What is the Health and Wellbeing Service?
It's about empowering our community to stay active, age well, and enhance long-term health with personalised assessments and bespoke activity programmes.
Movement for Health
Replacing the GP referral/Exercise for Health scheme, Movement for Health is a 12-week tailored exercise programme designed to support those managing cardiovascular conditions who are referred by a GP. It includes:
- a personalised induction and goal setting
- a structured, customised exercise plan
- regular check-ins
- a 12-week progress review
How do I access Movement for Health?
Speak to your GP. If they think you would benefit from the scheme they will refer you to us and we'll do the rest.
What happens after 12 weeks?
It’s up to you! Hopefully over the 12 weeks you’ll feel the benefits of your increased activity levels and want to maintain this as part of your lifestyle.
We offer a number of membership packages that you can join – see our memberships page for details and prices or discuss the options with your fitness instructor.
Active Ageing
This programme supports adults aged 60 plus who are at risk of falls. It focuses on activities to improve strength, balance, and mobility. It includes:
Intensive support

Intermediate support
- Gentle, low-impact activity pathway
- Builds mobility, balance, confidence and functional strength
How do I access the Active Ageing programme?
